Gerald, Sjoerd and Thomas will be at DISH (Digital Strategies for Heritage) in Rotterdam next week and they hope to meet you there. On Thursday, Gerald and Sjoerd are hosting a workshop on storytelling and how it can help you and your institution to add value to your digital artifacts and to engage your audience.
Storytelling is one technique for users to interact with cultural heritage content and to create a collaborative environment for contextualization. In traditional museum settings, the curator fills the role of the storyteller and assembles artifacts around a theme or topic expressing a vertical view on the collectives. In the digital world, every user has the possibility to tell a story around digital cultural heritage objects and share this experience with others.
In the workshop, they will explore the dimensions of storytelling and emphasis why it is so beneficial for cultural heritage institutions to embed storytelling in their digital strategy. Not only only will they touch on the development of storytelling, but also highlight best practices and technical implications when implementing storytelling.
